The rear spoiler is indeed one of Martin's. Along with the bonnet too. The fit is pretty good but you have to remember these are race car finish parts. You wont be buying one and using the car for concourse competitions. That said both parts were pretty damned good with only minor twisting and misalignment.

I dont have any great close ups. This is an old one with the original spoiler in place too. Best I can do at the moment.

Not quite ready yet, got to get the Bumpers back from paint, sort a few jobs out inside and give it a good service. Bedford will be the first time it turns a wheel more than 100 yards in 18 months. Quite a scary thought. It could all be over very quickly :?

I have had a word Chrissie the official photographer and she is doing a deal with Northloop. £20 gets you the disc with all your pics on from the day. We are also doing a few on track static pics at around 12.30, lunchtime. You need a Northloop sticker to be in it. Yours is free for the tickets you sent me last year

I think it would be really good if we can get her to do a few static pics of yours and my cars together. I think the contrast will be great and worth doing before we both go getting them dirty

Let me know if you fancy it

See you in a couple of weeks.

I'll try and get it all stickered up for some shots I can use for my website, PBMW stuff etc (think there are a few other PBMW racers coming?)

Cheers for the free shoot mate :)

Looking forward to it (if it passes MOT on sat, so I can run it in!!

err no I was just saying if you want to be part of the lunchtime on-track pictures you need a northloop sticker to get on. You can take it off straight after if you like :D :D

I'd still like to get a couple of pics of the two cars together though

Another early start and another good day :thumb:

Charley had me up at 5.30am so there was no need for the 7.30 alarm. On the road for the 67 miles drive to UB's place and the car.

Picked up the bacon rolls on the way and arrived to find Gareth working on a real beast

Some big imported Jap pimp mobile with a WHITE steering wheel. I think Gareth was considering swapping it for the AMG
Image

Just after that Jason arrived in the Exige. It needed the exhaust changing with him having sold it. As is customery I got to have a quick go in it. A trip to UB's wouldnt be the same without me driving someones car  That thing is quick :thumb:
Image

After that the undertrays had to be removed to get it near the ramp let alone on it
Image

Once in the air the exhaust was changed for a quieter version
Image

I thinkered about with the old girl and took a couple of dusty pictures.
Image

Jason cleaned the Exige. I was glad to see that he couldnt work the machine properly, got told off by Gareth who then took over   Makes a change from it being me in the dog house :thumb:
Image
Image

I had by now rinsed the beemer off and fitted its new sun strip.

Everyone out of the way it was 1pm and time to start on the beemer.

I took the rear spoiler off so that I could adjust the wing.
Image

Then it was time to re-assemble and fit the rear bumper. This took a little doing as we had cut out most of the strengthening from inside.
Image

That done the spoiler was refitted
Image

Then we repeated the process with the front bumper first cutting out the impact protection bar.

I had been slightly concerned how the car would look with the bumpers re-fitted. Having got used to seeing it without I was worried it would change the look for the worse. I needn't have worried :thumb: I think the car looks great, the photo's dont do it justice. Gareth said it look ''Ok''. That is the Gareth seal of approval.....
Image
Image
Image

With the little time left Gareth set about cutting and fitting my footplate.
Image
Image

Another great day, several small jobs left, but nothing too bad.

Bedford here we come.

Jasons was the Exige S with the charger on it. He then had some exhaust that released a few more bhp. It also made it bloody loud. By god did it go though 8O

What did you have? I liked the series 1 myself.......

Cheers Gary, bring us a few small ones, and a medium sized one please- i'll see when the rest is on if I can squeeze the biggun on

This is all providing the car gets there, 60 bloody miles on it and it broke down this arvo :( think its prob the fuel pump, so will be replacing that, the filter and the regulator in the dark wed night- fingers crossed the cars still there and in one piece when I go back to it

Yesterday was one of those guilt ridden days

I had to work in the morning and Charley has tonsilitus so I didn't get chance to drive the 70 miles each way to work on the car.

HOWEVER - I had an update from Gareth 7.30pm last night as he was just leaving work having spent a fair amount of time working on my old girl today

ABS on / off wired in
Camera mount made and fitted
Suspension set up
Alignment done
Brakes bled

With trade plates fitted he took it for a run up the road. He was pleased, infact he was very pleased. He is normally very understated but he described the car as quick and very sure footed. Sounds good to me 8)

Looking forward to driving it in anger next weekend

are you breaking it in at the ring next weekend?

is your ABS on/off just kill power to the computer? fluid will just flow through the box as if nothing is there when the computer is turned off?

Had the car weighed last weekend. Pretty much empty of petrol she came in at 1060kg's. How you guys get under 1000kg's I dont know.

Not sure how my guy has sorted my ABS but the on/off works really well  Car will be over a couple of weeks after Easter. I have decided to miss the mad rush this year.

A couple of pictures from Bedford on its first run out

Gary, if you want to get close to 1000kg's lose the ABS completely. The pump weighs about 9kg and the loom alone is worth getting rid of.

Mines about 1tonne and still has glass and underseal!

And another cheers for Bedford. Still hate the noise police though!

To be honest i'm not that worried about the 1000kg's. It was more that we had been pretty comprehensive with the strip. A few small areas where we could loose more but probably not worth the effort, or cost.

agreen - glad I got you into the golf, I knew you would enjoy it. Quick bit of kit isn't it?
