Hello mates! Here's my story.
Here is the car - so it looked when i bought it in december 2003.
It was a 320i, 1986.
As you can see it looked pretty shite, i dunno what attracted me but when i first saw it i knew that it's gonna be mine.
The first thing i changed were the seats - from ford cossie.
After a winted (i didn't use it in winter because of the salted roads) i had to get the MoT, so many things had to be repaired. I also bought other alloys - borbet R16, another steering wheel, the whole rear suspention from the 325 (now i have read disc brakes instead of drums), got custom made shotshifter, eyebrows etc.
After some time i got 17' azev alloys with mint toyo proxes.
And then one day i decided to take a look of whats under the mats. I was shocked when instead of the floor i saw ground... a bit of rust and lots of holes. I also took off sideskirts... there was nothing but the rust too, so i decided to go for a complete respray (including all the welding jobs). Afer 4 months i got it sorted out.
Rite from the start i decidet to go for an engine transplant. There were few ideas:
1) stock m20b25
2) m50b25 from e34/e36
3) m30b35 from 535/735
4) m30b35t from 745 e23
I decided to choose the m30b35, because couldnt find any 3,5turbo from 745. So far i have the car fully resprayed (including the engine bay). And I have already got all i need to go for the engine swap, but my technician convinced me not to go for the m30 (it's old, heavy) but to go for a v8 4.0/4.4 engine... so far i have decided to do it. So to be continued.
And here are the pics - rite from the beginning.

And then it started - what's under the mats? Ground....

After the respray - notice the smoked headlights - also my work.

also went for the rear light convertion. with lexus style rear clusters.

Here are the new seats - i'll have to retrim them to match the interior colour code (it'll be black/cream).

And the new angel eyes - havent finished them yet.

now it's lowered - i bought a 60/60mm lowering springs/struts kit from weitec. waiting for the engine transplant to begin
Almost forgot to mention the cost of all this - 400 pound for the car and about 1k for all the jobs/parts. Lots of it done by myself... so it's not very xpensive..

After finishing modifying exterior and engine bay content it's time to start rebuilding interior. Only two seats will stay, rear bench is going out - there should be an ice install. Actually i hope i'll manage to sort it all out till next april - this car should be in a tuning show here in latvia... lots of work to do but i hope i'll manage it :D

Good work fella!
I have the upmost respect for anyone who gets stuck in with the spanners (oh and the welder) themselves. Realy like those seats! Not keen on the lights. That will be some rocket when the V8 goes in.

I forget our continental cousins had the turbocharged 745i. The V8 conversion is gonna be quite a bit of work but good luck with the project :P
