What's the most unusual engine swap any of you have seen for an E30? Anyone got any plans to put any non-BMW motors in their cars?

I have no idea about it, I just saw it on the Pod slide show thingy on You tube. All I know is a) it's a purpose built racer, no idea what class it runs in etc. and b) it's got "375" on the back

Here it is in action! My guess is it runs in Pro Modified.
EDIT: It's a Super-Comp car.

That engine would be awsome in an M3, and you would have the arches to match!Dan318-is wrote:Best idea i have heard on this forum for months. Heroagent006 wrote:I still have back-burner plans to put an Audi 5 cylinder turbo engine into an E30 at some point.
SUPER

Go on, you know you want to!rob0r wrote:I've seriously considered it for my E21. Apparently around 1993, they bolt up to the GM RWD gearboxes...

A few weeks ago I drove a SAAB 9000 2.3FPT auto... my goodnes that thing shifts and it had 3 passengers. The e21 would FLY with that engine!

The gearbox compatibility has been mentioned there quite a few times in different issues.
