Front or rear?
If front, they are pressed, can be done with experience.
If rear, piss easy with a hammer and punch.

Had the same silly qoutes for one side for a '95 Clio last year. Cheapest and easiest fix is too buy a complete strut from the scrappie and do a swap. Can be a bit risky as you can't tell how long the bearing will last in the replacement, but I worked out that I could do this 4 TIMES and still have change from what the stealers were charging. Easier to do the job as well, no stroggling getting the bearing out and back in.

Dismantle the front hub, get a new baring from a baring shop, take to motor factors, get them to press the old one out and the new one in for about a fiver. Take hub home, reattach to car.. job done for about Ԛ£30 and a couple of hours work.
Bit of an issue if its your only car though... get a m8 to taxi you about
