Hey Guys,

I've done the most annoying thing ever!! My e30 has been sitting in my drive for a while now as I was trying to sell it. I went to take it for a drive and i can't find my key anywhere, I have turned the house upside down!! I'm so pissed off with myself:( So the question is...is there anyway I can get into the car without smashing the window? I did read somewhere that you can take out the windscreen quite easily, is this true? If so how would I do it? Is it possible to somehow short the central locking causing it to open the doors? Any suggestions please

I don't really know how to explain how to take the window out but it is a piece off pee, using a flat head screw driver there is a rubber strip that runs around the wondow, inside the window rubber trim, pulling this out will allow you to attatch suction cups to the windscreen to pull it out. Refitting is a case of popping the window back in and then putting the rubber strip back in the windscreen rubber surround.

No someone will come along and explain it better.

Yep, nip down the dealer with your log book and a cheesy smile, i think it costs less than a fiver and that is just the cost of the key blank.

I got a couple of aftermarket alarm key blanks cut the other week, absolutely free because they didn't supply anything, had to give the bloke a drink though, it took him ages to machine the little tiny blank. Proper sevice :D

Have you tried your car with any other keys? Just possible that your lock pins are siezed or broken, if that's the case anyone could just open your pride and joy & take her for a thrash. Would be worth checking for peace of mind...
