Can anyone tell me how you are supposed to get the rear seat back in the clips. It is the rear seat, not the back but the bit you sit on. It slides in under the back part and there are two metal knuckles on the floor, which should pop into the holes that have sprung steel edges on the under side of the seat, but no matter how hard I try the seat wont go back enough for the knuckle to line up with the hole. It came out ok and there isnÔš't anything in the way to stop it going back. If I push any harder I am going to f#ck the leather. This is now doing my head in. :x

If you sure nothing is stopping the seat base from going as far back as it should, then you can tap the two metal knuckles over a little with a rubber mallet. Once youv'e got them lined up, a sharp downward blow with the hand clenched into a fist should spring them on.

Ive had the same problem before....after several goes at it and a lost temper i got it on...just got to slide it as far back as poss an as brian said bang it with your fist and it should pop on...If this doesnt work make sure that the seat back is on correctly as this may be stopping the base from fitting nicely

It's an absolute bastard, I nearly put it through the fecking window after spending about an hour trying to fit it, then was going to machine-gun the neighbours.

Not that I've got a temper problem or anything.

Eventually I alternated sitting on it with getting up and hitting it again... got there in the end.

I'm a fat bastard, mind

Shooting the neighbours seems like a good plan. I have tried everything else. Thanks anyway.

push them back as far as, then hold the front up a bit to line it up by sight and push the clip back by hand a bit and u then press hard down and hit it hard

i had to do it alot on skylines . a real basterd in them to ( the back of the seat is ten times worse!

while were here, the back part of the seat (rear seats) in a CAB if it makes any diff...how do they get removed...im guessing boot lining off and there are fixings there or do they work on the sdame principle,i.e Knuckles and clips?

Don't know if the cab's different, but a saloon's rear seat is held in by two 10mm screws on metal straps protrudung out of the bottom of the seat back. The screws tend to be hidden slightly by pieces of fabric trim.
Unscrew the screws, pull the bottom over slightly, and lift the top of the back off two hooks.
