Looking for info on Imran
Moderator: martauto
I'm still awaiting either a set of wheels (paid for May 1, bought on ebay) or Ԛ£121.70 (cheque allegedly in the post on May 27) from "Imran Khan", allegedly and variously known as "onestop4anything", "thetyreshop", "sirecovery", "khan325i". Business address Old Oak, Mole Road, Sindlesham, Wokingham RG41 5DJ. I've got another name - "Imran Fida" - and a number of other addresses in Berkshire and Bristol with which he appears to be associated. I also have five phone numbers allegedly associated with him: 07096 609450; 07909 744425; 07753 310943; 07092 791554; 07862 264441.
In all, that's about 50% of the information I currently have on him. There's some fascinating supplementary hearsay material which, should I choose to publish it here, would undoubtedly prove defamatory
My original post of June 2, 2005 - "Goods paid for but not received" - details the issue. In a nutshell, I paid for the wheels, couldn't collect, three times sent a courier, then he said he'd arrange one, then he said he'd refund me. I have neither the wheels, nor the money, and he ducks my calls, emails and letters, so draw your own conclusions.
I'm not going to do anything so inelegant as to drive 200 miles to visit him, so I've issued a County Court writ and informed Thames Valley Police, who have provided me with a crime reference number. I'm also a former national newspaper journalist now involved with "litigation support": that means two things - 1) I never give up; 2) I know my legals; I also advise senior officers in two Police forces, which, in case anybody - and I'm not referring to "Imran Khan" - should choose to visit me uninvited means I'm a "monitored residential address": you know, I see something suspicious - and a I get a helicopter overhead about 90 seconds later.
The other point is that having sold two businesses - and now living in that "monitored residential address" worth about Ԛ£1.5 million - with no mortgage - it's now not a matter of money. It's a matter of principle.
If it costs me a grand to get my Ԛ£121.70 back, then I'll do it. In fact, I'm making it into my little project for the summer - a bit of a battle of wits.
All a bit big-deal for a petrolhead forum? Well, maybe, but I've got a bucketload of emails from other less well-positioned petrolheads who have lost money in similar circumstances. And, after all, I'm a trackday-loving, E30-loving petrolhead too.
So, any further information on "Imran Khan" gratefully accepted, and I'm happy to provide advice to other victims of such travesties, whether related or not to my circumstances. I won't be able to help every time, but will do what I can.

Well I'm going to try and get my roofliner this weekend from him. I gave him Ԛ£20 to collect in person, after I managed to conveniently miss him twice when going passed slough, I stupidly offered to send him more money to post it, 2 months ago. Not as bad as yours though iain. At least i only lost 35 pounds. If I am lucky enough to see him then would you like me to tell him about your wheel situation?
Iain, good on you, a man after my own heart. If I ever get screwed over then I really get the bit between my teeth and try to give the other party a good thrashing......usually large organisations rather than individuals. I have found the Data Protection Act to be a very effective way of getting these people to take notice, especially the letter that I send about two months after the first, that tells them have messed up by not responding to my initial request (in some cases the initial request was never actually sent.....but they never really know as they're so disorganised).
I've had well over Ԛ£500 of 'debt' wiped using this tactic. I keep records of all conversations with the gas/electricity people etc. Compare them to what their lying opperators choose to record and you often have a very effective leverage tool.
I kind of feel that this is the modern day man's chance to do battle, I actually get enjoyment from manouvering the opposition into a position they can't recover from.
Fantastic!
Good luck.

OK I also lost Ԛ£45 for 3 bmw items and was fed the usual sh*t from him for a month or two.
He also lists on E36.com, Jeez this guy won't be able to trade anywhere once his recent dealings are hung out to dry in full public view.
Luckily i paid through paypal and have only just got my pennies back.
Just deserves, hope all goes well Iain.
Can't understand these people, obviously a lot of business goes his way yet he still insists on fcukin up what could be a more successfull business.
Imagine all the business just from E30 zone.

Ian - judging by his antics so far I would predict you will get judgment against him when he does not file an acknowledgment of service or a defence within the stipluated period, meaning you will have to take enforcement proceedings and get the bailiffs in. Whether they manage to relieve any goods or money from him is another thing, but at least you will have managed to mess up his credit score good and proper!
Given the grief he has caused various zone members so far, has he not been banned from coming on here?

I may have to file a second writ under a different name to ensure I cover all bases. I'm led to believe he also uses "Imran Fida". The other problem is that I have more than one home address for him - I'd welcome any information enabling me to confirm the address I have.
Anybody know anything more about his appearances on e36.com? Very different looking site to this one, and not sure where I'd find him there.

ian - sorry unable to help as far as his identity etc is concerned. Glad I've not had the pleasure of doing business with him.
As far as the court action goes, you can probably only issue against him in the name he had for the purposes of the transaction you carried out- or not at the case was! It's a while since I had to do anything like that, but I think you would be permitted to amend the current claim form and particulars of claim to state his alternative names etc. The forms would then effectively have to be re-served and the 14 day initial period he has to respond extended again.
Prob best to just give the county court a call where you issued the action and ask to speak to someone in the county court issue section.
Best of british old chap!

Feel sorry for you mate, but atleast your not taking lying down, i think ebay has made it easy for these fraudsters ..
I've had an incident for Ԛ£120 also with another ebayer previously, but like your self i have solleagues in large organisations, but i use their resources another way, just to pinpoint or locate where the would be seller maybe, and having rum many door teams, and having contacts across the uk, in the same and similar professions... it wasn't long before i had my money back

I don't necessarily condone it, but often with people who are a bit slippery, sending the boys round is the only method of collection, otherwise they just play the system and you get a court judgment against them and they then manage to produce an income support book to the judge so you end up with Ԛ£5 a month if you're lucky before they default on the payments.
I've seen successful businessmen who have disputes and try all the tricks to get out of paying, but it's amazing how the cash soon becomes available when there is some persuading from a third party!

I have a "third party" that has helped me sort a issue or two....he's 6'10, 23 stone and he's very good at getting what he wantsE30BeemerLad wrote:it's amazing how the cash soon becomes available when there is some persuading from a third party!
Have to say tho when anything like this happens, it's hard NOT to want to track them down and take action yourself.
Good luck with getting your cash back, I hope it gets sorted soon.
Mark.

Its amazing how a 6ft 19 stone scotsman can turn up in the deepest darkest part of Wales at 11pm out of the blue- get his money back plus travel costs and expenses- Ԛ£150 on top!!
Its the principle, these people think they can take your money and run!
A different purchase almost had me going to Birmingham for Ԛ£35!
beside's ........... i like a good ruck!!

I have now received a payment from "Imran Fida" - khan325i/onestop4anything - via Paypal, so this specific matter is now at an end so far as I am concerned.
Disappointed it took a month and a bit, a call to the Police and a County Court writ, plus the loss of Paypal's commission to get a result.
I will be quietly observing to see if anything similar arises.
Thanks for everyone's support on this issue.
