Am about to have a go at the dreaded cambelt change

phoned the stealers for the bits I need, cambelt & tensioner

Cambelt reasonably priced at Ԛ£17. Tenstioner is Ԛ£44 + VAT!

Is there any preference to using the E30 tensioner or is the E36 one any better / does it even fit?

if anyone can promptly reply I would be grateful as I need to get the bits ordered before 5pm today so they have them ready for collection tomorrow morning.

muchas gracias

Why not try http://www.gsfcarparts.com or http://www.eurocarparts.co.uk they are quite a bit cheaper and most of the parts are top quality.

The e36 tensioner will not fit as it has a camchain instead of a cambelt.

It's worth doing the water pump as well if you have the spare cash.
Take the plugs out first or the compression can move the crank when your not looking.
