a 1965 Mustang GT350 must be worth pennies then, cause thats well old now init

You cant make your own genunie 9k miles Sport, even a nut and bolt rebuild of a shell means the shell is 100k old or whatever the mileage is

This is a hard one to swallow. £15k seems alot for that car, even with the low miles. It would be sweeter if it was a higher spec.

Look at what else can be bought for that... not far off Sport Evo money albeit its gonna be a tad on the rough side. But, that Sport will loose money with use where the Sport Evo will atleast hold its money, if not rise. Another £2k and you can have a very nice unmolested 2002 turbo! I know what I'd have winkeye

Also, not so long ago, £8-£10k would buy you a mint 3.0 CSL.. Try finding a mint one for under £30k now. Sport Evo's are heading the same way.

Wow!

Someone obviously new E30's was going to be a collectable item. I'd be amazed if he gets 15k. Is mint though.

Worth whatever someone's willing to pay... Must have limited appeal though because it's not a car you could do many miles in as its value would diminish.

Pretty basic spec for £15K. Gotta go for an M3 for that money surely.

If someone wants a "perfect" sport as distinct from a councilled up rotten piece of scrap i don't think this will have much trouble pulling £10k plus. The general consensus is that a "nice" sport with 100k miles and history is £4k, so why wouldn't someone proper pay another 6-8k + for a mint car that needs nothing?
Most 4k sports are tarted up tired councilled rubbish owned by deluded fools who wouldn't know the difference between a proper car and their BK,d turd if their eyebrows and their 6x9s were shoved up their 4rse sideways .
The buyer of this car will know the difference and will realise that the smart money buys a proper car , not a tired dog and start throwing money at it , a turd will always be a turd, no matter how thick the gold plating.
15 bags is a lot of money to losers like us but in the real world it is just loose change. All the seller needs is one hero with an itch for a mint sport and plenty of change ! :)

Not too sure about that...

That car would have cost the original purchaser about £20K back in 1991.

With inflation over the past 16/17yrs taken into account, he is taking a BIG hit...
Especially so as it has only done 10K miles so he hasn't even had some use and pleasure from it...

In future years, if correctly maintained and stored, it may very well become an auction house classic...but I think another 20 yrs needs to elapse before that will happen...

Well said, and all so so true.

I love comments like the '7k max'. People who say that clearly havent looked at the 4k scrap sports out there (or generally got a clue). People don't understand that to make an E30 nice, i mean properly nice again, costs thousands. Too many are just dodging real MOT stations.

it wouldn't suprise me at all if it finds a buyer for close to that price. (if it's as good as it should be)

those that are saying you can buy a good sport for 4k, or a minter for 6k probably have a very different understanding of the word 'mint' to someone who wouldconsider spending 10k plus on the right sport.

at 10k miles it should be 100% original, and i don't mean tidy, i mean as fresh as the day it rolled off the production line. maybe a minor stone chip or two, but everything should be clean, straight and unmolested, down to stickers in the engine bay looking like they were applied yesterday, a jack and wheel brace that have never been out of their compartments and shiney paint on the underside of the arches.

it's total originality that top end buyers want. a 4k sport with a show winning 3k respray 2k engine rebuild and 1k suspension overhaul will never command the same price as a properly mint original
cheers,

i agree pete..... apart from the losers part. 15k is not really a great deal of money.... by the time my wedding comes i would have dropped 12k and it didnt take me a great deal of time to save it. if someone wants a good sport that wants for nothing this would be the car to own.

The way I see it, the E30 325i Sport is now a classic - BMW only made so many, the last one was made 17 years ago and they aren't making any more. There are very few 'nice' 325i Sports left at any price. The ones that were nice 2-3 years ago have been slammed, fitted with horrid 17's, big speakers and crap like that because they weren't expensive enough to deter the sorts who do that sort of thing. Once the arches and rear shelf have been butchered, it's game over.

Is it worth 15 grand? Yes, of course it is. It might take a year to sell, but sell it he will. Not the owners of councilled up shitters, but to a 40+ yo who fancied one in 1989 and now has a nice house, well paid job and thus the means to buy and keep such a car.

Put it another way - if you had a perfect unrestored 1974 Escort RS1600 with 9000 miles, you'd be writing out a cheque for £50'000. Yes, you can buy a stunning restored car for half that but there is ALWAYS a buyer to pay top money for something as good as this because you can't put a price on originality.
Rubbishy Sports are worth £3500, really nice ones are £8-9000, butb this is something else. Shame it's not red with black leather!

Indeed. You may have seen a white E plate 318i (chromer) at some shows last year, a white 2 door with blue trim. That car is absolutely as new down to the laquer on the steel wheels, just one old dear who clearly never took it out in the rain. Well, the owner turned down a straight £8k bid. 'How would I replace it?" Exactly.

Use it sparingly. A car's no use to anyone parked up.

Good point, Ive been reading the other thread about this car and posted a few replies.
I think this car is flawed by its mintness, sports are cars that were built for and should be driven.........If i bought this id be terrified to drive it for fear of getting it wet or dirty.
Its a shame really coz if it does sell at that price it will probabley be destined for a private collection.

I personally wouldnt pay that money for any e30 [Not that i have that sort of money anyway]
There are people saying he is dreaming asking that price but i think it will sell eventually and who can blame the owner for asking 15k really ?

This man talks sense! All of the above is so true so take heed all of the dreamers who drive scrap clinging to a bent MOT, this fine sport is work 10k+, take it from people who KNOW what they are talking about!
