Afternoon folks.

I'm just mulling over this supercharger project and when the brackets are ready I see my big challenge will be relocating the alternator.

I really need to find out what brackets I can fit to the exhaust side of the black that will do the job.

Does anybody know off-hand what options I've got? I'm shit at fabrication and that kind of thing so bolt-on is ideal - I think I can cope with spacers to line the pulleys up etc so I don't think that's too much of an issue as long as it's in the ball park.

Advice is appreciated!!!

Cheers

I find having some rough measurements as a guide, and then a trip round a few breakers yards always helpful. Sometimes you can find something that will work with out having to fabricate stuff.

Thanks guys. Nitro, I'm hoping that there's a bracket such as the air-con one such as daimlerman suggests, for either the m42 or another engine, that will do the job. I'm trying to avoid hours in the breakers yard :)

You gonna have an electromagnetig clutch to disengage the charger? :D

or alternatively - you could mount alternator on the intake side- and drive it off same belt as the charger? Wiring loom has some play so you can maybe mount it on wing next to PS reservoir?

I thought about this abit back and was thinking of using the same bracket upside down and the make a 10mm plate which had the holes for the alternator bracket and then drill the holes in it to mount it to the air con bracket, then you can move the alternator bracket it up/down on the side of the block till it fits best :D than marke were the plate sits and dril lthe air con bracket hole in it or any othere threaded holes on the exhaust side of the block :D
