I've always been under the impression 12inch subs are better than 10inch subs but at present im considering 2 12's or 2 10's need some advice guys??

I know 2 10's will take up less space but im looking for a thud from the boot winkeye
Thanks
Neil

2 12"s neil. they hit a wider range of frequencies, and they'll be cheap. For 12"s, I can't recommend this sub highly enough in terms of price/power/quality... http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/produc ... /6667.html

Hi Just read this tread. I use these bass junkies as they are on my door step well 2 miles. Same as above cone.
Hope this helps. Slightly cheaper. Not sure how to check P&P.

You can get the twin sub box of ebay cheaper tho. This is Who i brought mine from £55 with delevry. They only list twin 15" boxes on ebay so you would have to phone them for the twin 12" box. Same price.

A twin 12" box didn't tak up much more space than one. I can send photo's of mine to your email address if you wish.

Neil Type R's are reknowned in the audio scene for high quality, if you want to keep costs down stick with it and just buy another one. Make sure you run them from a well-suited amp to achieve peak performance. If you really want to splash out JL's are fantastic. Still can't believe I blew mine! :x :x

I'm sure a few other audio nerds will join in and give you plenty more advice...so choose wisely.

All the above info is correct in some way but the main thing to consider is what type of music you listen to most, 10s normally give a tigher, more punchy sound (ie dance, rock, trance etc) whereas 12s will drop deeper bass with a slight trade off in definition of sound (r'n'b, hip-hop, d'n'b etc) then 15s give window breaking low bass with a bigger trade off in punch and definition, hope this helps :D
Wanted: Any old component speakers, complete or separate parts, let me know what you got :D

I'd prefer to go with 3 of these http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/produc ... /6553.html

10's sealed will always have the best sound quality, but because they are small they don't have as much output. I can promise you 3 10's will sound so much better than 2 12's or a 15. Don't spend to much on subs cause there isn't much difference till you get up to the jl audio w7 range of speakers. Your money needs to go into the amps. I make sure my amp is worth atleast 4 times the price of the total price for all the subs.

Would've gone with the alpine's too if it were me picking from those 2!!

Personally, i go for 12's normally, but i've heard a lot of good 10's!!!

The box design/size is vital and will vary with what you wanna listen to.
As said above, 10's are for punch, but 12's give more depth!!

Get some pics up Neil!!
