Same thing happened to my friend, so he took footage of other road users damaging their cars by the ditches and appealed to the local council.

The local council didnt give a s***. I reckon there too occupied in putting their scameras up.

It's Haversham Lane between Smallfield and Salfords. I'm livid.

I did get the money out the b$stards though last time. If you make your case water tight they cannot get out of it. They want copies of MOT's, Proof of ownership. Reciept from BMW, Licence, photos the whle nine yards.

And they will need chasing as well. Which I will do, no doubts there.

Misses said it was like a rifle shot going off!!!

hope you get some cash out of them buddy... try living in lincolnshire! pot holes everywhere, and the councils answer is to sling some tar down and throw gravel all over the place. They recently 're did' a perfectly good, and replaced about 15 curb stones which took 3 weeks, and left the ajoining more popular road with grass popping out, sides falling into the dykes so bad that people have actually scraped there exhausts on the centre of the road and zero grip in the wet due to the lack of anything but tar. i wouldnt mind, but since i've lived near said road, theres been at least 4 deaths on it, and you'd like to think that they would splash out just to cover there arses.

What annoys me is that anything with an mTech set up (which this e36 convertible has) is next to impossible to put up with where I live. My 5 had the full sport pack and it hated the lanes. As above, I wrote one of the rears off on that one (see below). The council just don't give a toss. Drive an SE 3 or 5 round here and they feel fine.

This is the very end of my lane taken today after the accident to show as evidence of negligence by the council. nowhere near as bad but well on it's way:

and heres my 5's wheel the last time round.

You have my sympathies, you really do.

However, my darling wife recently reversed my Range Rover into an erstwhile pretty much immaculate pre-facelift convertible. She let the swan-neck tow-bar push the valance all the way in and then, once the bumper had made contact, pushed the car for 4 or 5 feet.

I'd have killed for a buckled wheel :)

Tbh that could be any road in any county in England ( not sure about Wales NI ,Scotland or Eire.) Not just the fact that they take ages to repair anything but when they do its usually a crap repair.

I got a text only yesterday from the very guy who very kindly rushed to my wife's aid this morning as i was over in Aldershot. It said "whats the best body shop in the area? The stupid bint has pranged the Golf"! Turns out shes swung into their drive straight into his Landie and wiped the door and rear quarter out on a GTI Turbo he's had 6 weeks max! His excess on it's £250. She gets out, oblivious to what shes done all excited about a pair of £200 ugg boots she's just bought. I think she did get to wear the boots but not on her feet!

I'm sorry to hear about that. The roads in this country are a disgrace. Every day to and from work it's like an obstacle course. Pot holes, cracks, man hole covers the lot. I cant imagine what it's like driving on a stiffened suspension and 17" rims!!....

Thers a guy I see in the mornings in an e34 on replica M Parallel 18's! It must feel bloody awful.

Heres the e36 we are talking about and it's a '99 fully mTech'd 60k miler car from new and mint is not the word! Hence my anger! I spend hours keeping the cars nice. Not exacly "in the weeds" is it? But even this on 16's don't like the lanes.

Thanks No I hadn't seen this. But I will read it and follow the rules. Last time I just gave them everything they asked for without fail. They hadn't a leg to stand on. Guy next door but one has also just one one for an Alloy on his V40 as well, this was off the back of all the copies I gave him on my last claim. We figured if it worked the first time....

Our hugely expensive road tax was brought in to maintain and build new roads, I have a hunch the massive revenue it brings in to our wonderful government is spent elsewhere!

Don't even mention the tax we pay on fuel or I will throw a wobbly :x

A few years back my wife had a stone from a freashly surface dressed road flicked into her face.It broke one lens of her specs.I ended up issueing a summons in the county court against Lincolnshire County Council. They waited to three days before the hearing before the started talking money to me....I won :!: :!: winkeye

The roads around redhill and reigate are a f*cking joke! Sorry to hear about this Trevor. It does my head in avoiding all the holes in the roads, from behind you end up looking like you drunk and i have been pulled buy the old bill for erratic driving because of this. When given the reason they wasn't to sypathetic which pissed me off even more.
I dont even let my mrs drive the sport anymore for fear of her damaging my wheels by kerbing or pot holes.
