Mmmmm finally got round to putting the green stuff front and rear pads on my car yesterday (cheers Craigieeb and Johntewerin - for cheapoo 2nd hand pads  ) They seem to have a lot more bite, even from cold. Does any one know how long they take to bed in? As they are still squealing on and off after 100+miles. The best bit is I have got rid of my warped front rotors that felt like an earth quake when I braked on the motorway

I also replaced both engine mounts after Craig pointed out that they were fcuked - and fcuked beyond belif they were too  both had completly sheared off so the engine was just resting on the rubers  Any way it's fixed now, although the new mounts did vex me for a couple of minutes as they had rubber on the bolts, and it didn't look like it was supposed to come off. But it did, and really easily, when I pulled it

They're a bit thicker but I don't suppose it matters, well the bonnet still closed, it's not like the 2.5 lump is trying to get out
All in all a productive day :D Got sun burnt too 8)

Good lad.

Engine mounts = common M20 problem!!

The pads might need a specific bedding in routine, my Ferodo race pads did. Maybe it's different due to yours being fast road rather than race.

Mine was 25-30 stops for four seconds, at 50% of race pressure.

For normal pads it's take it easy for 200 miles!

You up late revising.........AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

It just said on the Green Stuff box - "brake with caution for the first 300 miles"!!!!!!! I just hope they stop squeaking- squeaking brakes are my bete noir, fcuking hate london taxis for it.

I have probably fucked them already as some tit pulled out in front of me and I ended up using the ABS to to avoid embarrasment :x

The engine mounts were pi55 easy to change, I think they go on lots of 10+ year old cars. A combination of heat, oil, and time is not kind on rubber. i had to change them on my old MK2 Ford Escort.

Engine mounts are a notorious weak point on E30s in particular though!

Your brakes will be fine! Just take it easy for 300 miles as advised.

I've finished my exams now!! Very happy.

Need a job now to pay for my holidays and other exploits. :(

I have Green Stuff pads and EBC slotted rotors. They don't squeak now and I am fairly sure they didn't when I got them, can't be 100% certain though.

Cool mate.

A ride in a Cossie sounds worth the drive anyway!! I've never been in one

Sounds like a plan.

My new Ferodo DS2500s in the Civic are very good. Yet to find out about fading issues though.

Yeah Dave I'll let you all know in a week or so. I have fitted them with GSF Brembo disks, and I'm quite chuffed that with two new sensors the little (0) light on the dash has gone out for the first time in 8 months :D

I mean it seriously!!!!

It's very satisfying when you do something like this yourself and it all works.
