Clicky

In the guys own words...
it realy needs the front screen removing & a new wiper pannel fitting, is also needs a new sun roof pannel see photo, it also needs an engine rebuild.

I skidded of the road in the snow & damaged the oil cooler, the engine in a non runner.
this is a project for some one with plenty of time on there hands.

THIS IS NOT A 5 MIN JOB, not for the faint hearted.

If you had the time & money it needs striping & blasting.
Is it really worth the bids its getting??

shell bearings will be screwed then otherwise it wouldnt need a rebuild - big money

Exactly what I was thinking.

Just reading some of the questions and he says it lost oil pressure and has 'rust' :?

i wish the new owner the best of luck with it. One response says " i know it needs £2000-£3000 to bring it back to life" it will cost that just for the the filler that thing needs

Not bad. We don't have many in NZ due to our LHD and frontal impact rules but you would expect to pay over NZ50k for a tidy Evo M3!

Quite fancied this one as my next project but won't bother now at that price. It might be just my nature but I am always suspect when there's bids from ebay users only registered for thirty days. Fair play to the seller, its an accurate description, he's basically saying its a nail.

Having just rebuilt an S14 engine for my M3 that also had spun a bearing, I know that to do a decent job the engine build will cost in excess of £2500.

I'd expect a scuttle repair to cost around £750-1000 (the part is fairly cheap) and the sunroof is almost nothing...Dunno about the front bumper and EVO splitter, but a "pattern" part is only around £200.

The rest of the car looks in fair condition, though....However, at the current price it is probably the top whack as added to the likely repair costs, the final car will be around £10-11K and that is about the ballpark for a decent Evo 2.

Personally, I'd probably buy a running, MoT'd and (apparantly) non-rusty car for that money...The plus side of buying this is that if you do all the necessary work you will be 100% sure it isn't going to spring any nasty surprises on you later!

Gotta stop at £6K I'd have thought if you're to top out at £10K after you sorted it.

Question is, how much is a clean one these days?

That's odd the car is supposedly sold to Canada already and still at £4000 I thought it was not worth it.

the shell dosent look a bad one though, seems rust free in that pic and looks straight, if a little pricy at £2500

Crumbs that one's been somewhat neglected. :(

Maybe 1500 quid maximum. Whoever's bidding on this is seriously in for an almighty big shock.

I wouldn't be affraid to take that on. Worse wrecks have been restored and it is a rare car after all. Obviously the price would have to be right and £6700 is to much. It looks like it is complete with all its evo2 part minus the front bumper and the interior looks reasonable which is always tricky to source. It also looks like it has EDC suspension judging by the switch behind the gear lever, not sure if this was standard on evo2's but im sure someone will will be along to confirm.

EDC was an option from around early '89 on all M3s

I would agree bss, not too hard to sort out and, so long as the rest of the car is OK, would be a worthwhile restoration...I'd say around £5-5.5K would be fair...

I was watching this some weeks ago and was a little tempted at 4k but i think 6k+ is too much, Lets be honest to get that car up to good spec would exceed 10k-12K

I just Bought my Evo II 1988 Macau Blue 118k Mot & Tax for a good price it has a few minor bits need doing to it but a lot of the major work has been carried out on the car before i purchased it.

Goodluck to whoever will take this project on.
