I have found a set of my desired wheels, the lovely BBS splits and am wanting to know what the best offset is for the E30 keeping in mind I plan to widen them to 8-9â€a. The offset is 35 and the guy tells me it's perfect even though im sure I should be looking for 15-25.

Any help would be much appreciated and I apologise for the stupid question in advance :o:

I have run a search and it seems it doesn't work well for me, turns out pages of stuff that don't relate to key words.

Depends how much arch work you want to do..

I run 8x16 ET-10 with 195.40's and all my arch lips are rolled flat, I still get scrubbing with alot of weight in on the driver side rear.

Hope that helps. :D

Offset is dictated by rim width - nothing else.
Ideally it reduces by half an inch for every extra inch if rim width. However, it's not a 100% exact science as rim width is measured in inches and offset is in millimetres - don't ask me why, I don't know.
If you take a standard-fit 15x7 BBS as reference, that's et24. An 8inch rim on an E30 is usually et13 and a 9inch is usually et0.
A few mm's either way isn't a problem, but these figures are what you should be aiming for.

This is why I no longer drive an E30......

And be carefull on the front, as clearance with the calipers get problematic over ET35
Infact, if you upgrade them and you're unlucky enough to use bigger calipers, ET35 is impossible (just tried it a couple of days ago)

Thanks, I'll keep looking of a 15-25ET then.
