Hi all,

I've been kicking around this site for around 5 years and have found it very useful during the 5 years that i've owned my sport even though i've hardly posted at all.

Finally I have gained the bottle to post a few pictures after the car has received a weekend of servere Meguair'ing, and it's always nice to see the sun.

Hope you enjoy and I will hopefully get more involved with you all in the future.... :D

Stunning, I've always said it, it's the best colour for a sport.

Not a fan of the eyebrows though.

Yeah, they are real pina's and were on the car when I bought it. Although I'm not sure how long they have been with the car as they are not listed on the original sales spec sheet.

lol, yeah I'm with you on the eyebrows, they were also on the car when I bought it and I've been wanting to take them off ever since but at £46 each for the grilles I've been putting it off.

They will be removed this year though when I have a spare £92...

Buy some good 2nd hand ones, and get them painted with matt black paint, I've done the ones on my touring, and they do literally look new.

Eyebrows look good on black cars, with black grills, but not on anything else IMO. Stunning car.

Yes, Brilliant Rot it is..!!

Thanks Mat. I bought the car nearly 5 years ago on 38,000 as my daily drive and due to a heavy first 2 years of work miles it went up quickly. It's up to 96,000 now but will be a weekend fun car after this summer (if we get one!), when I will be using another car for day-to-day.

Regards posting the pictures up, i've seen sooo many stunning motors on the zone (including your stunning resto sport!) that strangly it's made me think that mines not good enough, but I'm pleased that i've done it now :D

Yeah, I will have owned the car for 5 years this April and have loved every minute.

The eyebrows are definately getting removed early this year as they were on the car when I bought it and i've wanted to remove them ever since, but i've always had more important things to spend the cost of the new grilles on. The car is due it's service and anti-roll bar bush renewal this month, so once I get the car back I will order the grilles from BM and re-post the improved pictures.

How about the rear panel between the back lights? It was absent when I bought the car, do you think the car would look better with the panel in place?

Thanks again all for some great feedback and I will hope to see some of you this year at some meets if I can

Never noticed it missing in the pics tbh! If it was my car (and i wish it was!) i would replace it with another to keep things original. IIRC i have seen second hand ones in perfect condition for around £10.

I'm amazed it only had 38000 on it just five years ago!

Looks like you found a very good one there fella

Excuse my ignorance but whats 'IIRC'? I've also got them priced new from BM for £18 which was a suprise tbh.

Yeah, I understand some would not want to put any milage on something so low, but I wanted a car to enjoy driving and not run into the ground at the same time which would have happened with a higher milage example. Sure the value would reduce but I really can't see myself selling nor the milage going up very much at all after this year.

Thanks for your kind comments :D
stevotheevo wrote: any plans for the future. :D
I want to return the car back to it's original look (except the wheels) but would also like to fit a full system inc manifold. I'm after something very subtle sound wise as I think the original sound is pretty much spot on and am past the stage of making lots of noise. I understand that Fritz-bits supply a nice system...!?! :? Can anybody help/advise?

Cheers

Exceptional looking sport you got there mate, nice work. I do like the red as well, especially on the tech 2's when its not faded. I wish I had a garage to keep mine in, think the horrible winter we've had here is starting to take it's toll. I found a little bit of rust underneath the rear drivers side window yesturday, looks like it could be a bitch to sort out :? . Loving the genuine alpinas too, something i'd like to get for mine in the future.

Cheers Dave. Sorry to hear about the rust issue and it's location, best get that sorted before it gets a lot worse as it looks good and straight from your sig. Although it's been garaged most of it's life, mine was left out in the cold for the first 2 years that I owned it. Have you thought about renting a garage as it should not cost too much per month? Sandhurst nice area :D , I used to be a Camberley boy before I moved up/across this way almost 4 years ago.
