so I've just got back from Uni and my bro wanted a drive in my car so I took him to the racecourse. So he's driving along enjoying himself and someone pulls up next to us and says "looks like your rear axle is going"

erm, can axles 'go'? My car has been lowered, could he have meant that?

Cheers!

Was the person an "old timer"?

A rear axle doesn't go... and e30's don't have a axle as such as it independant at the rear.

cos back in the day, cars just had like single beams..... with a diff in the centre.... aka 'live axle' and they would bend with time and the wheels would get negative camber as ure e30 probably looks like it has cos its lowered,,,,,,
he prob thought ure axle was fcuked

Old car often had had a whole axle, ie both wheels directly linked. I think the phrase your axle has gone, means that it has bent or something. And the wheels look in the wrond place

Yes its probably to do with your car being lowered! You got lots of Camber? Ie are you wheels like this /--\?

Gywn :

oops missed your post, not lots of camber, enough to be noticable though.
