help please.. bushings
Moderator: martauto
my car is going to the garage on saturday as i am changing my suspension. while the suspension is off, i am just wondering, apart from the mounts what bushes should i change and with what, as i read a lot of stuff about poly bushes and m3 eccentric bushes but i am not very familiar with these mods. any help would be appreciated. anti roll bar bushes? trailing arm bushes? also if you lot could advise me as to where the best is to buy these bushes?

Avoid poly bushes if you drive mainly on the road and value your teeth and spine, I had them on my touring and they annoyed me no end, much more road noise and vibration through the body.
Best bet is standard BMW rubber bushes all round (BMW only mind you, cheap stuff is just that, cheap and nasty).
The only exception to the rule is the eccentric control arm bushes for the M3, genuine BMW parts are only £20 or so for the pair.

and these m3 eccentric bushes are for the wishbones right? i will buy original bmw bushes, i am looking to change all of them regardless if they need not to. so which ones make the main difference for the drive. as when i turn a full lock and do a turn i hear a knocking noise from underneath.

The eccentric's are for the wishbones.
Might as well do the full set as they all make a diference.
Prime suspect for ill handling are the rear beam bushes, followed by the trailing arms bushes. Fit the eccentric wishbone bushes at the front and all 4 anti-roll bar bushes. That's everything.
