however i think ive made my first mistake ever of buying a car and ive bought over 30 now lol!!! fuk fuk fuk ive left a 200 pound deposit and i dont think the ppl are going to give me it bak

it was just for a 306 td but a p reg one which now turns out dont have a registration form!!


anyone wana give me a hand getting the deposit bak if it comes to it lol or shall i just call the police ??

Could try the police - explain that you paid deposit n then found out that there is no V5, if they wont give you the Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£ back

I will put Ԛ£100 in the post tomorrow but i am keeping Ԛ£100 for my trouble as i could of sold the car today and because of you time wasting i have still got it plus i have to pay for postage do you want me to send cash through the post?I know it is not a criminal offence to sell a car without a logbook i just rang the local police station myself,Let me know how you want me to send it,Thanks

IT IS NOW ILLEGAL IN THE UK TO SELL A CAR WITHOUT A V5 PUNISHABLE BY A Ԛ£1000 FINE AND OR INPRISONMENT. THE BUYER MAY ALSO BE FINED

I was Having problems taxing mine as i do not have a Log Book. They told me i had to go to my nearest DVLA office and Tax it their. However you can Only do this if the Vehicle is registered as being in trade. and not Registered to an individual.
I had already sent off Ԛ£19 to get a Logbook as that is now a standard fee.

When I got to my local office they made me pay another Ԛ£19 as well as the money for the tax because they do not believe that i have sent off the V62 with my payment.

I will be Cancelling the Cheque, as i aint Paying twice.

I asked what would have happened if the vehicle was registered to an individual. and they told me i Would need to wait untill my V5 comes through, as a V62 would not be acceptable. You cannot complete a Declaration of sorn without the V5 or filling out a V62 again it must be Registered as in trade to do this, and pay Ԛ£19. and You would not be able to tax the car, if you have not taxed the Vehicle within 14 Days youwill recieve an automatic Ԛ£80 Fine when the vehicle becomes registered to you.

I said this is Total Crap and how can you punish people who buy a Car that has no V5. They replied, IT IS NOW ILLEGAL IN THE UK TO SELL A CAR WITHOUT A V5 PUNISHABLE BY A Ԛ£1000 FINE AND OR INPRISONMENT. THE BUYER MAY ALSO BE FINED

So please all Be aware of this when Buying and Selling your cars.

hmm, reading that I have suddenly remembered that I didn't sign the fooking V5 for the 206 when I swapped it!! Fortunately its a dealer so I suppose I could go up and speak to them about it.
