Yeesssssss I can see I havenÔš't been clear about thisԚ….

I said the impreza is LESS involving (rather than crap), but also that you CAN still have as much fun but itÔš's at a much higher speed

E30BeemerLad - I agree totally with your dad that any dickhead can drive one fast, but as any twin-prop pilot could fly a fighter-plane fast, does that mean the fighter plane is crap? Or that itÔš's not worth having one because itÔš's difficult to get as much out of it? Of course not.

What the impreza does is give you full access to a bigger and dangerous playground, one where well-driven Porsches and Ferraris (and EVOs) hang out Ԛ—a itÔš's a different leagueԚ… and the impreza gets you in for half-price (much less than that if you buy second-hand).

Of course then it's up to your driving skill as to how much you enjoy being in the new playground - you might not like it.

But that doesnÔš't mean I donÔš't also want to go to a different / slower playground and play with a different toy which is just as much Ԛâ€ËafunÔš'. Far from it Ԛ—a as has been mentioned most excellently by Tomstickland and E30BeemerLad above, mixing it with someone who has BETTER kit than you is the most satisfying thing.

Daily driving you should find a car that suits you and is lots of fun, but you should still have regard for everyone else out there enjoying themselves on the road, and with an impreza thatÔš's sometimes quite difficult as it wants to go so much faster than anyone else... or is that me?
