There was a very useful list of insurers that someone posted up on another thread, saved me about 25% spending a few hours going through them.

I'll have a look for it :thumb:

Well worth spending a while going through them, I found CIS and First Alternative best with a big NCB so give them a try first :)

I have recently renewed my insurance - Last year was with Kwik Fit but when I got my renewal quote they wanted Ԛ£580 (up Ԛ£130 on last year). After much on-line quotes and phone calls decided to go with Elephant. All mods declared + only 2 years NCD ( 33 years young) Ԛ£ 290. :woohoo:

My 316i no mods with Elephant.

I'm 24 with 3 year NCB. Mileage at 5K a year, no business miles, TFT.

I think it was Ԛ£307 for 10months on their bonus accelerator which counts for a year! Paid up front of course otherwise it would have been nearer Ԛ£370.

I've been with Tesco & Elephant, More Than > refused me...saying i was high risk! !!! :o

Here in Australia it would cost me over GBP1000 a year to insure my car (323i) with full comprehensive insurance and with a very large excess as well. I've checked a few places and most won't even insure it because it is modified. The car only cost about GBP2000 so it is uninsured (well it has the compulsory 3rd party) and I just keep it garaged and park in fairly safe places with an immobiliser and steering lock. Right now I am 20, when I first got it I was 18 and insurance was going to cost nearly GBP2000 a year which is all the car cost :( . Apparently the driver training courses I have done and my racing experience (only small, but still) count for nothing either.
