The above is something I am considering doing, but having done a search can't find out exactly what is involved...

I'm sure I read somewhere that 24 valve engine goes in on the original 325i gearbox and mounts? Is this right?

I know the exhaust manifolds don't fit, is there any other problems with this conversion?

Any comments or information gratefully recieved, and sorry if it's been asked a million times before :?

If you look in the engine swaps section, there's a sticky at the top of the page. :thumb:

Yep,

I've had a quick look at that, but it mostly seems to be discussing exhaust manifolds, servos etc.

What i was really after was a idea of whats involved and the best possible doner vehicle...

Cheers

a 5 series is the best donor vehicle as it has the right sump/pickup pipe ect.

Steve,

You need to sit down for a few hours, and read it all. A 'quick look' is not enough.

Steve, I should have an engine with most of the bits you will require in a few weeks time so dont go buying anything just yet

As Ian says, read everything :)

Dan, cheers bud let me know!

I don't know, you sell me a prop then think i'm easy!

To be honest it was your seeing your car that inspired me, very very clean and a excellent job. Mind you mine has changed a lot since you last saw it :)

Everyone else, thanks for the advice, I was hoping it was reasonably straightfoward, I guess not :?
