4 hours in labour

Hi guys. Just a quick question. Ive been quoted four hours labour to change my six flexi hose brake lines. They say they need to drop the fuel tank. Is this correct?

Fuel tank does not need to be removed but they are close, changing the flexis on their own is not that difficult, but if they have never been done before or are rusted solid to the hard lines this is going to turn into more work, you will need new hard lines making up in that case too

Probably a 2 hour job if everything goes ok.

If the hard lines do need replacing make sure they use kunifer, and fit new flexi hose retaining clips, probably best if you buy the retaining clips in before hand

If they do drop the tank, then definitely have the hard lines replaced as well, unless they are in perfect order.
A lot of time can be saved by renewing the lot, since you don't have to waste time trying to undo rusted connections - you can just go in with some small bolt cutters and chop the lot out.

Well ive had a chat with fritz bitz who build my car and their saying my brake lines weren't that bad when they last saw the car a few months ago. So if it ain't broke don't fix it. For safety reasons ive just brought a anti roll bar kit so if the brakes fail I can get out of trouble haha.
