if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

also they appear to bolt to the seat mounts/rails for ease of reach.

Any recommendation for a boot mounted bracket? Personally I prefer one in the boot with a modern extinguisher.

Most 2kg extinguishers have a mounting bracket with them, you might need to make something up to put it in a better position
Depends what you want it for, problem is an extinguisher in the boot is as much use as a chocolate fireguard in the event you get trapped in the car. I do put them in the boot but only when I have another in the car
All mine have an original extinguisher under the drivers seat, but that is just for show and for that original flash of red under the seat when you open the door. Would not even try to use them. One of them will likely be replaced with a modern equivalent which look similar.
Each car I have has a 50 second firestick in the glovebox, used two in anger and they are good. You can throw it in the car or boot, or shove it under the bonnet and most importantly you can leave it to work and get clear.
For a 30 year old car I’m more worried about electrical fires as opposed to getting stuck in a convertible. Good shout about the fire stick - didn’t know it’s a thing. Definitely worth keeping in the glovebox.flybynite wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 10:46 amMost 2kg extinguishers have a mounting bracket with them, you might need to make something up to put it in a better position

I have some stock to sell, sold some to the Lotus fraternity and have some left over, they are 50s potassium aerosol type extinguisher. I have one in the kitchen, and in the cars.
