Well, it's been too long without an income and I have too many cars to feed!

I'm putting three up for sale, including my E30, to see if they will find new owners.

Here's what I'm planning to say about the E30:

Please PM if it's of interest. (Constructive :D ) advice re wording always welcome!

Happy reading:

1991 BMW 325i SE 4dr Saloon E30.
Great history, low mileage, original and low owners.

For sale due to a reduction of my small collection of much-loved classic cars.

Diamond Black metallic with 0376 silver-grey striped cloth Comfort interior. Automatic transmission.

There is a lovely history file with plenty enough documentation to support the 96,000 miles recorded as accurate and genuine.

One of the last of the SEs and as a result has many options fitted. Front and rear electric windows. Electric mirrors. Full remote central locking. Electric Sunroof. SE bootlid liner with extended toolkit. Battery located in boot, with cover and accessories storage divider (with accessories in it!). 13 button remote OBC as well as overhead check panel. 15” genuine BBS alloy wheels (including spare) and iS front lip. Towing eye, jack, brace and chock all in place.

Original book pack still with car. Manual, service booklet, original stereo instructions, service directory, leaflets for warranty, emergency, security and service indicator, it even still has the business card of the original BMW sales exec. At Halliwell Jones.
Delivered new on 1st March 1991, the day after its PDI. It was a leap year.
BMW service stamps at 1208, 5826, 10451, 19080, 21996, 24441, 26988, 29438, 39213, 44705, 52223, 59271 (Birds), 63397 (CS), 73041 (MRC), 79959 (Park Lane), 90759 (Queensway), actual invoices thereafter.

Plus: Stamps for annual checks, brake fluid changes and body inspections after one, two, three and four years.

Plus: 19 MoT certificates showing appropriate mileages.

Many, but not all, invoices on file.

Documents, VIN plate and stampings all match and in good order.
Five quality, matching tyres.

This car has been cherished all its life. There is no sign it ever went through that second phase of life where it gets hammered around and badly maintained!

Some very nice touches expertly added by previous owner include genuine BMW silver side-stripe (subtle but lifts the ‘look’ very effectively), LED lighting for doorhandles, footwells and boot, superb Nakamichi stereo with in-period style and great sound quality, traditional electric aerial, Nextbase dashcam, cupholders and more.

Consistent with (and improving on…) previous owners’ care, in my ownership the car has had many thousands lavished on it to make it a joy to own and drive, reliable, last longer and look even better.

For example, in July 2019, at 92,000m, at a cost well over £7,000:
Total top-end rebuild. )
New fuel tank. )
Sundry couplings and bushes. )
Change all fluids etc etc )

Plus regular oil and other fluid changes, general checks and renewals. 4 wheel alignment and so on.

Most recently, it’s had a new Bosch fuel pump and filter and a new (huge) battery.

In March 2020 (yes, immediately as we went into Lockdown!) the car went to a great bodyshop for renewal/restoration of inner and outer wheel arch and battery-tray corner (driver’s side) – not a small job. It cost over £2,500. Pictures in the file.

Invoices during my ownership are also in the file. They add up to about £12,000.

All mechanical work in my time carried out by the excellent team at Birds BMW in Iver.

MoT expires in October 2020 (or maybe 6 months after that – not sure?) I’m happy to arrange a fresh MoT should you wish.

This car is a total pleasure to drive – with or without the excellent stereo playing! She is fully set to bring joy to her next custodian.

Even with the massive following and support network these cars have now, there aren’t many left like this.

Classified ad price is £11,995.

Trying to ad photo by drag and drop but it keeps bouncing back to photo album - help please!

Sounds like a bargain given the money spent recently. Good luck with the sale

Very nice! Got any links to those?

For the pictures, you're likely best off adding to a site like imgur and then linking individually, she sounds like she's worth seeing.

Your best bet for the £ may be pistonheads or another classic site - it sounds well loved and would be nice to see this avoid having some dealer type mark it up on one of those instead of you.

Cheers,
Gus

Thanks again, Gus.

The car is now on ebay (classified), Carandclassic and Pistonheads!

Today has escaped from me (again) so I'll get on with 944 listings tomorrow.

Visited the car today. Put the CTek adaptor plug on so it's easier to connect and disconnect the battery conditioner.

No buyer yet.

Going to lower the asking price today or tomorrow.

If that doesn't get the right attention I will bring him/her/not it home and put something else up for sale.

Fingers crossed!

Best wishes to all

So, taking a chance and have listed my car on an eBay no-reserve auction.

No apparent new issues after lockdown hibernation, we had a lovely drive out the other day, but it's time to find a new owner.

Someone will be getting a very well sorted E30 - fingers crossed we get enough bidders, looking promising though.

Cheeky bump!

No reserve eBay auction for my car ends tomorrow (Sunday) evening.

Please keep your fingers crossed for me - bidding started well but I'm hoping for something stronger by the end (of course!)

Best wishes to all

No-show from winning bidder on 325i. Happens a lot, apparently.

New auction next week - last try, then she's coming home.

Other two have sold.

Thanks for following-up.

Selling on ebay is a minefield, but it does give an indication what something is worth at any particular time.

Maybe if you posted a link to the ebay page on here it would save people hunting for it.

I think if you posted an ad on pistonheads, carandclassic (or even here) around the ebay price, you would get a better 'quality' of sale.

As the other two have sold maybe keep it?

Yes, will do.

Once the new auction is up, I'll post a link to it here.

It will be a no-reserve auction so will sell as long as the winner shows up!

But if they don't (again!) I will indeed be keeping the car - especially as now lockdown is easing there is the prospect of having somewhere to go in it!

Hammer price was £7900, which is nowhere near enough for a car like this. Keep it.

Yes, a bargain the 'winner' no longer has access to.

As of today, he/she has a new MoT too - no advisories :-)

I agree, I think if it were mine I would be keeping it. Trouble is, at the moment the stupid money for 325s is following original 2-door manuals, preferably with lots of plastic bolted to the outside, followed by convertibles and then tourings.

Couple of years ago 8K for a moredoor would have been unheard of but I think much better could be done if it is kept for a little while longer.

That last bid was probably from a bidding bot software,on the very last second. I had had a bid up to 7500,thought I might bag a bargain and be able to reacquaint the car with a few drives to Southport. I'd have been miffed if I'd been the next highest bidder when it finished.

Was overheating going through Blackwall tunnel when the auction ended - if it had AC I would have been very tempted. Sports seats and manual swap and a beauty! Hope the sale goes through

Indeed, winner has got himself a great car at ordinary car money...

If they're not here, I will be recommending e30zone to them for sure!

Best wishes to all, as always.

If I didn't have 2 E30s I would loved to have bought this back, I do miss the straight six! Hope it has gone to a worthy owner.

Thanks
