I'm looking at changing my pierburg head of crap to a Weber DGV. After hours of research, I still can't find a straight answer. So, masters of the M10:

Do I need an adapter plate to put a Weber DGV on my M10 E30?

The internet seems to have loads of information for 2002's, and it says you either need the special solex manifold, or an adapter plate, but I'm assuming 2002's have a single barrel?

If I do, would this kit be the right way to go?

Any help or answers would be great.

Old post, but did you replace the Pierburg or gave up and replaced the engine?

I've put in a Weber 32/34 DMTL pre-jetted for the M10. It's a straight bolt on, and they also have a rubber mount for it.

Now wish I had put in the twin webers :)

The 'correct' Weber kit for the E30 M10 bolts straight on to the existing manifold with a thick rubber gasket, but no adaptor plate. There is an adaptor plate fitted to the top of the Weber to adapt it to the existing air filter box.

Big bump :p

I persevered and went with the DGV. I have no experience with the DMTL that is the standard conversion so I can't compare.

It was all a waste of money in the end. All it did was make lots of noise, and it kind of went fast. The fuel economy wasn't too bad either ~ 30mpg
