no one bloody stocks these anymore! ive tried euro car parts, gsf, mister-auto, smeiddmann (they list it but out of stock), Wallach and nesche don't do e28s, er variety of other places (local motor factors etc)
only places that get them but have to import them.
Dealer can get em but £45 each
The costwolds guys are £40 each
the bmminiparts are £40 each
Meh, anyone recommend anywhere else?

E34 M50 mounts work as well.
I have a pair of 318IS mounts here somewhere which would also work.
PM me if interested.

I already ordered new ones, I read on the internet that although e34 ones work they aren't made of the same hardness of rubber?
lol @ rav - at least the correct engine is going into the correct shell - e21 m52b28 ftw!!!

Is there any different between E28 M5, M535i or 535i engine mounts?

M535i are the same as any M30 mounts.Andeep wrote:Is there any different between E28 M5, M535i or 535i engine mounts?
The E28 M5 (S38) has a different mount on the exhaust side, possibly down to the extra weight of the 24v head (considering the engine tilts that way) and extra heat from the 6 branch. That's why the M5 mounts are recommended for S50 swaps, although I guess the same could be said for M50/52 swaps.

Searching the part number 11811128932 on realoem, it says that the left mount is the same for E28 525i, M5, M535i:

Yup, that's correct, the left side mounts are the same. It's only right side (exhaust side) that differs on the M5.

Will be ordering a pair of left side ones then.
Would you recommend getting them from BMW or from ECP/similar?
Cheers

The E28 M5 right side mount is more expensive (and BMW only iirc), so most people will go with 2 left side mounts.fonk wrote:So why you cant use e28 right mount? Why only left ones? Got myself a pair ( only paid £10) , been told on this forum to get mounts from e28
I know the M5 right side is needed on an S50 conversion, but nobody has confirmed if its needed on M50/52.
Fwiw, I've used the E28 M5 rightside specific mount on the three M50 conversions I've done.

The 635i uses the same round mounts as the 535i etc, so that should be fine.fonk wrote:Just messured both mounts right and left on every angle. Both are spot on the same my came out fromAndeep wrote:Can someone just confirm that I need 2 of these mounts:

That's the normal M30 mounts, left and right side (used only on the left side of the E28 M5). That seems to be what people are using on the M50 conversion.
