hey guys, my car is actually an e21 NOT an e30. but the principle is the same - well nearly lol. i have tried searching but i cant find a definitive answer!

I have already done the m50b25 swap into my e21 but as most of you found the boat anchor is not good enough so I have a e36 328i donor car.

When I did the swap i used an 2.3 m20 clutch and cover (as it was new on my last car and being a tight bugger i reused it!) found out that it slips a bit when you change gear too quick.

My question is can the e30 325i stock m20 clutch handle the m52b28 with a BB Throttle body and the m50 inlet? if not which clutch do you guys use?

if anyone is wondering - I HAVE to use the e21 m20 gearbox cos my speedo is cable driven and not electronic like you boys have.

im clearly having a blind moment - there is a sticky thread in this section about gearbox options - and it says use the 325i clutch and cover if you use the m20 box.

I should clarify that I am using the m20 single mass flywheel already and the boxes are the same apart from mine has a speedo cable output..

seriously though i would appreciate it if someone posted - yeh Nas the 325i stock clutch can easily handle the power no probs.

in an e21 its a whole engine out job if i need to change the clutch!

Cheers for being helpful guys.

I dont race track and i wont be going over 300hp as my axle would simply snap in half. I was about to buy an expensive uprated one so you have saved me a fair chunk of money.

i have had a paddle clutch in my previous rx7 and often made myself look a complete n00b trying to set off in traffic.

the sound of 400hp in an e21 = insane speed and plenty of danger. I like!
