Hi All

The chance to break a M52B28, single VANOs.

Apart from the crank for a 2.8 M20 conversion, what other parts are worth retrieving for a future M50 upgrade. Camshafts? tubular exhaust manifolds? injectors?

Thanks

Thoughts anyone?

The exhaust headers look great, can they be retro-fitted to earlier M50 engines when doing an installation into a e30.

The m52 manifolds are easier to modify for e30 m50 engines. Whats wrong with the engine?

car was in a high speed accident. Flipped onto its roof and continued to slide.
Smashed manifold and camcover and VANOS cover. Sump contained 3 litres of rain water
Inside the head, all surfaces are covered with brown oil varnish which has prevented corrosion.
Sump is off. Need to remove the auto 'box and flywheel to drop the crank.

OK so the manifolds will be useful.
How about the camshafts?

You need to remove the sprocket and chain as there is no chain tensioner so not enough slack to remove the pump otherwise. Quite easy really :)

Sorry, the car was written off after it flipped and slid down the road on its roof/bonnet.
