hi am just about to start the conversion have purchased an 1995 328i cabriolet auto as the doner car and was just after a list of parts i need to remove and any extra bits that might be worthwile swapping as i have the car hear, i know i need another brake master servo but not sure which one is best and the manifolds i can customise myself, is the loom easy to modify? or is it easier to buy a loon from hear allready to plug and play?also if its a home loom mod how easy is the ews to remove
cheers mark

Only extra bit you might want to keep from an E36 is the steering rack.
Loom is dead easy to modify (basically cut the E36 plug off of the end and splice an E30 one in its place), but for those who don't fancy this easy job DanThe on here will do the job for you.
He can also disable EWS, but if you have the whole donor car, why would you want to?
Standard brake servo can be used if you move it over a bit, or the preferred choice for a smaller diameter one is one from a plastic winged Clio.

Electric fan wise i'm using a 14" ebay one dan recommended (also using his auto fan loom), works perfectly, no problems sat in traffic at all :)

You can use the E36 fan from the donor, the cowling just needs some hacking about and you need to make some little brackets to bolt it to standard holes in the E30 front panel.

Two-speed temp switch is used for the fan, screws into the side of the rad. If you use an 80-degree thermostat, I think it's an 80/88 degree switch, I forget. Someone will no doubt confirm that.

Don't forget if you're using the EWS from the donor, you need the key (chip can be removed and put into an E30 torch key), the transponder ring from around the ignition barrel, the ECU and the EWS control box.

FYI I dont just hack the C101 off and graft it to the E36 loom :D

I modify the E36 loom to get it as small and as close to an E30 loom as possible, which takes many hours

Factory finish that loom Dan, you know if you covered it in silicon or bumper gel you could get at least another £20 for them

if i was ever to do another m52 conversion, i would tell dan to do the loom for me again again, the standard was exception and oem finish, and the car fired up first time after installation :)
