Just wondering where people go to get piston rings, main and rod bearings from when doing the 3.0ltr crank rod and piston conversion?
I've picked up the main parts, but not sure on if oem or other components would be the best mix and what about arp bolts are these worthwhile?
I've heard lots of stories about people stripping the head bolt threads when removing the head, what can be done to minimise damage and how do you normally go about resolving this? I've heard of people using helicoil and also time cert - time cert kit is very expensive though!!
I had great ideas about headwork to make the most of my cams and itbs but costed it up to over £4k with solid lifters and upgraded everything so thought better of it s52 would be a much cheaper route.
Really interested to know what people have ended up spending in doing this conversion and where you bought parts and who did the work for you, I'm open to the idea of giving someone the parts and them building it for me.

I am in the middle of getting the bits together to do exactly the same, Danthe has quoted me to build it and his price is very reasonable
Its all the other bits that send the budget skywards. I am sure I could get an s50 in and running for similar costs
Good to see more people doing it but do most stick with oem components or not?? Minefield or what!
