Hi All,

I have now installed the M30 into my car and after a few headaches, she is running.

But my revcounter is not working.

I have made the wiring changes as per Lee's post but still nothing.

Am I missing something simple.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Nick

Was the donor car a 4pot car?

Do you actually have a revcounter in the first place?

The car is a 325e so yes a six pot.

The revcounter did work previously with the M20 in it.

Only just installed the M30 and got it running.

Check if there's a 4 pin connector in your glove box (C104).
This connector formerly connected to the engine loom, close to the Motronic unit.
It should have 3 wires:
Pin1 - black (SHIELDED!): engine speed
Pin2 - green: power ECU (non fused)
Pin3 - yellow/white: fuel rate

You'll want to use the black and yellow/white ones - and connect them to the engine loom.
I pulled them back - and fed them through the firewall to the fuse-box. From there I connected them to the correct pins on the (chassis side) engine loom connector.

Yeah the coding plugs are different on 4 and 6 pot cars IIRC.

Someone chime in and give more accurate details please.!
