Leads should read about 5-6K ohm, lead that goes to the coil should be 1-2K ohm.

felt so proud, even tried it with a E30 325i and got put in my place..
Ok so, some findings tonight. Resistance tested the ignition leads just now in my nice warm garage. (m30 doubles as a room heater too)
There is a mixed set of leads on the car, half "Beru" half "Ignition leads" brand. All the Beru leads measure 6k ohms all the "Ignition lead" brand ones measure 8k ohms.
The "Ignition lead" brand on cylinder 5, I couldn't get a bloody reading off, even though the car runs on 5 cylinders without it. It must be working to some degree.
The lead on cylinder 6 is missing a few inches of the rubber sheath near the plug, I suspecting that may be the cause of the ticking I get around cylinder 6. I've seen split HT leads tick before today.
What you guys think of that? New leads?
Can M20 leads be used on an M30?

hows your dizzy cap ?
It looks like the PO has had a go at fixing the running problem as the dizzy rotor and spark plugs all look new.
He's overlooked the leads as they look a bit fooked, all mixed sets with some frayed and split and one not giving a resistance reading.
I'll see if my old mate Pacerpete has a good used set, unless you chaps have a set you want to sell?
