What modifications do i need to do to fit an m20 engine loom to an m30 ?

do any wires need extending?

Do i still need to modify certain wires for rev counter etc ?

reason i ask is because i allready have an m20 loom and my m30 one is butchered

:)

Im not 100% sure but i seem to remember something about the TPS, its either the wires need extending or the 3 wires are the wrong way round.

Also you will have to work out the injector part of the loom, M20's have that little round plug under the inlet and it may be too messy for your OEM look. :)

Thought topless was giving you one?

That's what I thought too Lee,that there was a bit of rewiring to do.

you could adapt an early K jet loom, but the TPS plug and afm won't reach

the oil sender will need lengthening too

Thinking about it it could be the AFM wiring the wrong way round, ie the pins in the wrong place.

Just get an M30 loom it will save a lot of chew.

He was, but i need to get down and god knows when that will happen

i have a complete m20 engine in he garage with loom

I dont mind altering bits and bobs with solder and heatshrink and do it all properly. may remove the loom on it and fix it with solder and heat shrink. its the crimps and block connectors i hate on something as important as the engine loom

Id rather do this than graft an M20 loom on.

A rough guess id say the M30 loom you have is from a late engine, the C101 is similar to an M50 one hence why you have loads of wires cut.
Bristol_jer's loom was like this so he cut the plug off and grafted a M20 C101 plug to it.

Excellent.

So i remove my c101 of my m20 engine and wire it to the m30 one

i assume the aftermarket ush button start fitted is a case of removing it all and joining the wires back together does yellow black ring a bell ??????

Yes iirc yellow/black is for the starter.
It really depends how the push button starter was plumbed in, does it still start with the key?

Id say yes, maybe put an inline fuse there just in case. Has any of the body loom been hacked?

Just been to look at your pics again in the other thread. 8O

Body loom is ok i think, it will all sort out with solder and heat shrink, any idea what the live wire going to injector loom is ?

You should have a permanant live coming off the loom its about 4 red wires bunched together and they will be near the coil/relays.
