You mean the box fitted to the E30 324d and 324Td?
According to the E30 handbook supplied with our cars, The 324d uses the same ratios as the 320i, and the Td uses the same ratios as the 325i.
Both auto versions use a box with first and second gears unique to the diesels.

Im sure the td box I have has a larger output flange than the usual M20 box, same as a later ZF

Confirmed by a quick look at the guibos in the ETK. Td has the larger one with 12mm bolt holes.DanThe wrote:Im sure the td box I have has a larger output flange than the usual M20 box, same as a later ZF

cheers lads.
i have the option to go with a 324d, 324td, or e34 m20 box. i presume the e34 box would be the one to go for?
