Lots of talk here recently of the benefits of asjustable top mounts.
Question is, how easy are they to fit?

Same proceedure as fitting standard top mounts. You need to remove the front leg, take off the old top mount and replace with an adjustable type.

Very simple (as above), only a benefit if you use them as intended, ie to adjust the setup

"Remove the front leg" sounds quite involved. Do I need spring compressors?

You should use them, but I don't bother. I just use a buzz gun on the top nut and the spring pops off with minimal fuss.

Cool. Any idea how long it would take a competent (i.e. someone i was paying to do it) mechanic?

I never pay people to do work on my cars so not really sure. It's do-able in an hour, certainly wouldn't take longer than 2.

Brill, thanks. Looks like I'll get it done for me. If it was a fiddly 3 or 4 hour job it'd be worth having a go at it myself.

And are there clear 'notches' or markers to show what your doing to the camber and castor?
