Im going to do this on mine as i felt the standard brakes were ok around croft, they could have been better.
just watch out for the E32 730i which is 302 as well, but a thinner disk.
The 750i/540i ones are wider.
Will have a look in the ETK but believe I have done that already before buying the 735 calipers.

When I done my 312mm conversion using the Audi TT disc I got some 735 cailpers and they didnt fit, so I had to get the wider 750 cailpers and I am sure demlot done the same.

just had a look in the ETK.
735i is fitted with a 302x28mm disk
750i is fitted with a 302x28mm disk
E34 540i is fitted with the same 302x28mm disk.
And ALL do list the same caliper.
only certain years of E32 730i M60 are fitted with a 302x22mm disk. That's the one to avoid. (guess how I found out...)
Some years of the 730i M60 seem to have the 28mm disk as well, but I would stay clear of that model if you can't make sure wich one it is.

@ agent006:
If you had a crash big enough to move the rollcage that far then the last thing you'd
be worried about is that hook. For that to hit you, first the roof bar, a pillar and screen
tube would have hit you!!!
