I like your steering column mod, i was wondering how easy it would be to do?? Is it just spacers?

Fairly easy. The factory bolts have snap-off heads, so the hardest bit is getting them out. Weld on a nut or cut a notch for screwdriver. Space out with washers if you've got nothing else, then refit with new bolts.

Alec, I see you must have found a new home for those dustbin lids you had installed on your front bumper!

Great thread! I actually came by this forum near the start of the year asking for help about getting a trackcar - E30 vs E36. Ended up with an E36 328 Sport in the end. Here's the spec:

Fully stripped with sunroof welded in
Custom made rollcage by SHP Motorsport
Corbeau Sprint seats
Ricco Racing (FIA approved) 4 point harnesses
Dave F induction kit
Alpina527 big bore throttle body and modified inlet manifold

GAZ GHA suspension
Nitrac 12 and 8 groove discs (on second set after cracking the first set at RAF Marham)
Performance Friction 97 compound pads

Hankook RS2 track tyres

Sorry I don't have any up to date photos. Indeed, the car is currently with SHP Motorsport having the cage, seats, floor plates, firewall and harnesses fitted.

Originally a 320i SE auto in calypso red. Came to me already fitted with a 325i sport engine and manual box bot with a 4.1 open diff so first gear was useless!

Away went the 14" bbs wheels (once I had "used" the tread up). Interior stripped out and a pair of mamba bucket seat fitted on home made brakets, pair of harnesses and a rear cage with removable diagonal. Scorpion stainless exhaust fitted along with a wild chip. Lowering springs went on as well as a set of MIM 1900 lookalikes actually made by RH shod with YOKO tyres. Off came the useless 4.1 open diff to be replaced with a 3,64 LSD. Bonnet replaced with a less dented spare which was the wrong color so painted it black. rest of paint was peeling it's laquer in places so out came the rattle cans!

Since these pics the bootlid has been replaced with a spare with an se spoiler and the front vqlance replaces as it was rusty. Also front splitter has been replaced with a genuine IS lip. bonnet fitted with bonnet pins and rear of bonnet raised to aid cooling in "high speed slow momentum" manouvures shall we say!

Had a few more decals on since as well, not touched it for 3 months or so as I have moved in with my girlfriend and it is still sat at my house with a few issues to resolve for the mot

Soon it will be back...........

In an ideal world it would have the sunroof removed, some strut braces, some neg camber on the front and a cage, but that's all money I need for other things :(

:woohoo: - got my SD cage coming very soon, pics will follow.

Also fitted a couple of old sckool bucket seats on standard E30 subframes winkeye but have now got the bug to purchase a couple of Cobras for a good price off of a fellow Zoner. Things are on the up and i'm starting to feel the bug for it again - it's almost a sin to see the Touring sat on the drive doing nothing atm.

Neil.
