No problem. Do you mean the pulse disc for the speed sensor?

I'll give it all a clean perhaps tomorrow. Let me know if you want more pics. It should be easier to photograph with it not covered in old oil residue. :)

I'd replace those plates personally. They tend to glaze up then finally once they wear through the very thin coating, chew themselves to death and fill the oil with shredded metal. Then it's full rebuild time once the bearings run in the residue...

A lucky find though :D

Thanks Gareth. Yep, a lucky find indeed! I've e'mailed driveandtraction.co.uk for a price on a set of plates. I'd be interested to hear any other/better options if there are any. :D

Cheers!

BTW, I'm sure I read somewhere that the plates are the same as the 2 plate units? Is that correct?

Actually the clutches come in different thicknesses and compounds.

Just measure the current plate, think they are 2.0mm and order accordingly.

The dog ear plates are in decent condition. Here's one after about twenty seconds with a bit of scotchbrite:

I've ordered a new set of friction plates. :D

Cheers! D. :D

So, my plates turned up (super quick as it happens :D ):

So I popped them in. All back together with new (deeper headed) cover bolts:

Tada! :D

I'll fit some decent rear and side cover bolts at some point soon. 8)

Let me know if this is cluttering your thread up too much Demlotcrew and I'll edit it down. Thanks again for yours, Gareth's and DanThe's help/input! :thumb:

Cheers. Dave. :D

I've got a few bits and pieces to do to the rest of the car, but hopefully it'll be ready to drive in a week or two (depending on how much of this festive nonsense I can get away with ignoring. )

Cheers! :D

Hi, i have an LSD on my 4 door but the tab is missing so not sure what one.
The diff has quite a bit of backlash causing the motor to hunt a little at times, is it worth having rebuilt ? if so any idea on price or is it an easy DIY job.
Its fitted to a car im selling shortly but i was wondering if it was worth the effort having it rebuilt and fitted to my Cabby project.
Cheers

If its quiet, then sorting the backlash should be no more than £100 from a professional.

You should not be able to hear any differential noise, even with the seat/carpet out. If it's whining then it needs new bearings.

Give Gareth a PM on this forum.
