it aint a conversion, per se- the 745i engine is just an m30b35 with a turbo on it- originally fitted to SA spec e23's s far as i'm awarehammoj28 wrote:320touring wrote:Hehe, yep. Iv sent him the email.lol.your dad needs a car like that!

Buy the whole car off pete Theo, and stick that in a M3 for the pod!
Very different engine to a stock M30, knock sensors remote waste gates, computer boost control ETC
Very cool for the age

You've got more chance of fingering the Queen than buying Pacer's 745i! The best one ever has to be an original Alpina B7 E28 owned by a madman in Germany. He has two - one perfect concours and factory standard car and 'the other one'.
It's a B7 block but with a 3.8 M5 crank and rods, custom slugs, ported head with even bigger valves and a custom made steel head gasket and a turbo the size of your head. It gives 440 bhp and was timed by the German police at 188 mph racing an SL55 AMG Merc and given a complete bollocking plus a short ban.
Wicked style. 0-100 in under 10 secs apparently................

Andy, was the second B7 you mention that one in a strange turquise green. I was reading an old PBMW with that in the other day, what a chariot!

That's the one. Turkis green which was a colour used on the E9 Coupes (3.0CSi type) and the early E12's.

The 745 SA was a M88 e23 -->> a very special M-car
The engine code is M106 for the M30B32 and i think M110 for M30B35
745 is one of the most underrestimated car of all tima
Absolutly awesome (( at that time))
