Was that the one owned by the guy who ran or worked at a detailing place, seem to remember a big thread about it being detailed maybe on piston heads.

This is just a cosmetically changed run out model. The special one is the green 3.0 GT.

I dont think the red one was ever officially called GT2 but 'Imola Individual'
The e36 m3GT had aluminium doors, lightweight bits and bobs and I think the suspension & arb set up is different.

Also, the engines where hand picked from the last of the 3.0 units and only the very strongest were used, then specced up a bit with a different cam set up with power upped from 280 to about 304 or something like that. Inside they have alcantara suede seats with green leather inserts with black wood trim. On the outside they are all green. They also have the adjustable front splitter that pulls out and retracts from under the front bumber and a high level rear spoiler.

The GT2 is a tarted up Evo in imola red built at the end of the e36s production run as a final special edition.

The green uk gts didn't get modified engines either, the European ones did, and had carbonfibre trim too which is loads nicer than the uk cars wood.

The gt is nice because it was a special model, but in reality most of the good bits became standard on the evo anyway.

I really like the imola individual, I think they look a lot nicer than the green gts, however, as said they're just a tarted up runout model. There's no way if pay anywhere near that much for one.
cheers,

harry

Calling this a tarted up E36 M3 would be a big injustice. Just go and try finding one with this condition and 2 Owners from New, 31k mileage, FBMWSH and this great condition. And anyway weren't the Evolution models significantly upgraded from the 3.0 litre models. This is jaw droppingly beautiful to have one of the best if not the best in the country .... Now that's saying somefink :-)

IIRC the serial paedo has some full sleeve action going on ! 8000 miles or 150,000 . it's still an E36 and he is an E36 owner.

I meant the model in general was a standard m3 in a nice colour with some bits of plastic stuck on the front and a different rear spoiler.

There was nothing special about the way it drove or handled, it was just a prettier version of the bog standard e36 m3.

And yes, I'm sure that car is very nice, but I buy cars to use so wouldn't ever pay such a massive premium for one because its low mileage unless I was some minted up collector.

My e36 is rough around the edges but I'll bet its way more fun to own. I wouldn't be able to sling that red one down norfolks finest mud and grit laden country roads for fear of a bit of road rash or an errant bit of wildlife being too slow to move out of the way.

I don't understand how anyone could have a car like than and only do 31k in 14 years. Very sad :(
cheers,

harry
