Just bought the misses a 318 i se for a run around. Its got a slight amount of hesitation on acceleration.

Anyone have any suggestions of what could be wrong.

What year or more importantly which engine does it have? M43 or N42?

I'm pretty sure its the M43 engine. Its a 1999 if that's any help.

Further to this. I just had a look and it is an m43 donk.

Indeed! :)

Firstly, as with all modern turds you really want to get fault memory read to point you in the right direction but there are a few common M43 ailments.

Check the intake boot for any signs of air getting in and check the vacuum hoses near the inlet for the same.

MAF's can play up as can cam sensors and also the DISA flap in the inlet manifold.

Ah brilliant cheers mate. I'm gonna get it read for faults. I just wanted an idea of what it could be in the mean time.

I think the manifold DISA flap will turn out to be the cause. I bought it off and old lady who had been ferrying the husband to and from the post office for 8 years in it. I bet its all sludged up because its never been thrashed.
