Ive been looking around and thinking about maybe getting back into a BMW, Ive been looking at the 1 series but Ive spotted a couple of tasty looking 530D's and its got me thinking.
Im thinking about the Avus blue edition because they look really good in that colour with the M sport bodykit.
Is there any problems I should be aware of and do they have the Turbo problems ?
What sort of MPG am I looking at getting out of a 3 litre diesal ?
Cheers,
Steve

My old boss did say it did improve economy. Think they're a bit less than 230, but it's not hp you're looking for in a derv

Maybe a 530i sport might a better. No worries of Turbo problems.

You beat me to it. I'm looking into e39's at the mo and I'd steer clear of the 3.0TD for the very Turboissue. I got offered one with 170k on the clock about 18 months ago. It was on it's 4th TurboBlitz wrote:Maybe a 530i sport might a better. No worries of Turbo problems.

Are you looking at an E60 then? E39's didn't have that power, they were 190 or thereabouts iirc. They're not all that reliable either tbh, could be expensive to own. As said i'd go for a 530i, noticably quicker and obviously smoother. The difference in fuel economy isn't as great as you'd think either.e36boy wrote:Yes mate, Think theyre 230 standard so Im guessing 270 -280 remapped....Dont quoute me on that though.....Would a remap improve fuel economy aswell ?maxfield wrote:They're seriously quick with a remap too
