Factory electric superchargers iirc were a very expensive option???

Well after a bit of forum searching hear and there alot of people say it's fine to put a hole in the thermo, but just as many say it's not. Apparently can lead to headgasket failure especially with M30 heads and also problems with the car not heating up properly.Andyboy wrote:No problem mate. Spend a couple of hundred quid at a 'specialist' who knows no more than us. We've being doing all this for a long time. Advice is free, but please feel free to ignore it - no skin off my nose!bedumon wrote:Thanks for the advice but that looks to me like a very short-sighted botch job. I reckon it would probably do more damage tot he car in the long run.Andyboy wrote:
Also, try listening to the advice of those who have had this problem.
So still no better off......
Think its time to visit the BM specialist.
By the way, many thermostats have a bleed hole. How exactly will it cause damage?

Traction? It dont need any extra traction mate its got 200 bags worth of valeting gear in the back!Duke137 wrote:DanThe wrote:Maybe it was one of his valeters taking him home from the pub in the 'works kitted van' and he had a bit of a dream about the ferrari when he nodded off on the dual carriageway![]()
Don't under estimate the works van, its got a front splitter that gives it a hell of a lot of traction and stability at high speed

Absolutely no way am I getting involved in some old 6 Series coughing it's coolant up - but thanks for the kind offer!bedumon wrote:

So as I'm planning to keep the car for myself I'll be looking for a more longterm and safer solution.
Also about the sepecialist, I don't know if he knows more than you, but I'm pretty sure he knows more than me, so unless you're willing to come and have a look at it, I think its best I take it to him.
Well, sticking pins in my eyes has become a bit passe now. Maybe an old M30 with overheating/gasket issues will satisfy the inner masochist in me!sweep wrote:Andy i cant belive you wouldn't want get involved in such a simple task
