I'm wanting to give my engine and bay a good old clean and just looking for some advice, ie best way to do it, best stuff to use, things to look out for as i dont want to cause any damage.

An engine is an engine to me so i dont really know whats what in there so i could probably do some damage if im not careful lol

Thanks
Alex

WD 40 is also very good for cleaning, with cloths and toothbrushes.

So should i steer clear of water then? I dont want to damage any electrics? I've heard a few horror stories of people using pressure washers on engines, or would a hose be fine as long as its not to powerful, combined with whats recommended above?
