Anyone got any tips on keeping your arch's spotless?

Just make sure you clean them proparly everytime you wash the car. If theres no rust in there at the moment maybe worth getting some underseal in there.
if they have rusted and been repaired then chances are the rust will reappear what ever you do....other than that if they haven't rusted , a rust resistant stone chip protector (waxoyl/dinatrol both do them) and clean, clean and clean again the lips under the arches are a good trap for mud ...make sure you keep these mud free and the rust will be v.v. slow to appear (if it does at all)

There is no rust at all! Looks like waxoyl is the way to go for the arch's. Any tips on how to apply this stuff to your arch's?

keep them cleaned out well and apply some fresh underseal to the underside and waxoil from the inside.
on my resto project it was the inner arches that had got the worst problems and they didnt have much waxoil on them inside.there were some places on mine where no amount of re undersealing and waxoiling would have stopped the rust but if yours are good now then you probably dont have these problem areas.
dont forget to drop the plastic guard down that protects the filler neck and clean behind there as its a proper mud trap

I really wouldn't do that IMO.

I done some arches on a mates mk6 escort that I detailed for him a few weeks ago.
Used megs APC and a stiff brush to get the muck off and then dressed the plastics with chemical guys new look trim gel.

It just seems waxoil underseal will protect much better than anything else. The roads i drive my sport on are so mucky, my arch's are regulary covered in cow crap, mud and god knows what else. I definatley need to protect the arch's.....d6dph wrote:I really wouldn't do that IMO.

Is this a good underseal to use for the arch's? Also anyone got any tips on undersealing the bottom of the car, think i might aswell go for it if im doing the arch's...

What do all you people with lowered cars do in terms of cleaning the inner arches?
My last car was lowered, and i couldn't get my hand in the arch to clean (and jacking it seemed OTT)...
I used to use my pressure washer on my car before lowering, but once lowered, it took only a few months for the mud in the arches to cause rust to come through....
with the intention of slamming this, or my next e30, will i end up with the same issue???

I know it may take some time to do this but it's worth it. If you value your E30 irrespective if it's been lowered or not you need get each wheel off and give the arches a proper clean. Then using a hard bristled paint brush they are cleaned again with soapy water, rinsing in between.

MUD ! Get rid as it is a moisture trap clean underneath the arches touch up any damaged underseal and clatter the waxoil on afterwards but most of all keep the mud washed off .
