I was just looking around for a nitrous kit for the e30. I couldnt find much but I found this:

http://www.yourhotcar.com/prod/Smmenter ... _Kit/17710

1. Is it a good kit?
2. Whtas involved in installing it?
3. It says 50-150hp - would I actually get a 150hp increase or is this just a pointless figure they give you?
4. Will it just blow my engine to pieces? (high comp 2.7)

Thanks in advance for your help :D

Not sure about the kit.
Not sure what's really involved in fitting it, I'm sure with some kits you have to drill the inlet manifold, but that's direct port :?
Not sure how reliable the figures are.
It won't blow your engine to pieces if setup correctly. I'm sure the higher comp will make it better...

I'd go with a Wizards of NOS kit though.

There are a couple of people who will be able to help more though.

The power levels qouted reflect the size of the nitrous injector and thus how much nitrous can be added.

ie the 150bhp port is 3 times bigger than the 50bhp port, obviously it does also depend on the power your current setup is making but the power qoutes tend to be pretty accurate (unless your running a 1l micra!)

Nitrous is delivered immediatly upon application and thus places mega stress on the engine, if you start with a 50hp port you can always add a bigger one later, Imagine having a 50hp kick up the arse only this is happening to your engine!

Also check your insurance some companies don't mind, some won't touch you and others will let you run with all the plumbing for road use but won't cover you if a bottle is added, so for example they will let you run around on the road with it installed but only expect you to use it on track (where you won't be covered!)

Should have also said, that as far as kits go check on the web for recomendations, since nitrous is still very unusal ezpesially for road use none of the kits are kite marked or ce approved so there is no 'safe' route to buying a kit.

In reality all it is is a serious of plumbed gas lines, port/injector (whatever you want to call it) and a actuator or solenoid controlled by a switch, before these companies started making bolt in kits ALL nitrous kits were home made or specialist kits from drag racing designers/builders.

The american kits are not upto british standards and insurance companies don't like them!

Buy the wizards of nos kits they are approved and meet standards.

I have known people get very good results with the WON kit's but i would deffinatly spend the extra and buy a progressive controller to go with it, it lets you set it to kick in at, say 30bhp then build upto full over a number of seconds (adjustable).

So its like a farely gentle kick with a slipper followed by a very firm shove, as aposed to 1 almighty kick from a rugby player in steel toe caps, 1 is much safer for the engine than the other.

Thanks for all the advice everyone.

@zuast- Are you running NOS in your tech1? Are the kits simple to install? Can you provide the 'progressive controllers'?

Would it be at all safe to run 100hp gas on my engine?

Dave, your MS can control the NOS progressively dude.... just the dry shot jets you'd need, the rest is fully mappable.

re your CR, its a little high for much over a 75 shot imho, and with the TB's to come on board 1st, I'd look @ direct port rather than fogger setups dude.

What Ant said fella. Would have thought 100 would be fine if controlled though. I run 100 but im sensible with it.

High comp would only use it a 3 and a half k up to 6 and a half k rev's. Personally I find a wet kit s is safer and won't case such high temp's in the head. but if you are going multi tb and can controll the amount of fuel going in with the n²0 it should be fine.
