E28 M30 flywheel lightening

is it worth lightening my E28 M535i single mass flywheel?

also, if i do, will it need rebalancing afterwards? (i assume it will)

Not sure if its worth it ?

If you do it don't take too much metal off, i don't know how much is safe to take off before it becomes a problem ?

TBH put the money into buying a decent chip as you will be better off.

I had a Superchip in before my Emerald, not sure if they still do them though ?

I've lightened a few flywheels over the years and most recently the flywheel for my 2.7 M20, I took 3kg off it. You will definately need to have it balanced afterwards if you do. Mine was quite a way out and has been tested to 8000rpm which it'll never get up to so it is still strong enough not to explode on me

i'd say go for it.. helps take some weight off the front end albeit a tiny amount and rev up better

further toward the outside you remove the weight the more effect it has
