I have a s38 in my 86 325 and Im getting ready to do the wiring. I havent seen any posts about this so Im just wondering if you have to splice into the old fuse box or do you just rewire the wole engine harnes. Or is it just easyer to put megasquirt in and run it full stand alone?

Use S38 wiring harness for engine. I suppose it's done like M30 wiring harness, so all you need to do is to make new connecting plug at the S38 harness where engine harness connects to body harness.
In E30 the body harness side is basically the round connector at the firewall near fusebox.
You can see it here:

Wow that sounds real easy! I'll look at some M30 swaps and see how they do that and go from there.
Thanks
Thanks

I'm not saying that the wires would be exactly the same, so you need to search correct S38 schematics of course. E30 round connector schemes you can find for example on www.e30.dem335 wrote:Wow that sounds real easy! I'll look at some M30 swaps and see how they do that and go from there.

Only thing with e30.de is I cant read german. It "shouldnt" be that hard to wire it in tho. Hopefully it will be easyer to wire it then it was to put in.
