Bit of the old high heat paint works wonders on a manifold

.
It's an e28 m535i rad.
Gone back to the o/e air filter as it seemed to have lost all top end with the k&n !!!
Any induction suggestion's welcome.

Did you heat shield it well?

It's a 3 inch pipe and the k&n is the 8 mouth inch one. Bigger than most. No shield but it lost all top end torque. Worked very well on the old m20.
Scott if you are doing the m30 conversion, then use the e28 535 rad, it's got more surface and is the thinist of the lot.

oh, may be of interest to you that an e28 m5 clutch will work, its way better than a regular m30 sachs clutch. i used the M5 clutch in my M3 when that was turbo's and was running gas and had no slip problems

that's interesting... will that fit the E28 M30 flywheel or the E34 dual mass one?

Thank's for the head's up kos. (how you doing by the way) I think it come's down to my two ton foot more than anything else. Done five runns altogether and pulled 15.004 twice just by letting the clutch in slowly with no throttle, and then slow throttle.

I'm guessing it was a dual mass E34 one, they are heeeaaavy!
The E28 single mass ones are about 5kg lighter.

Wright, got round to fitting the fan switch that goes in the rad yesterday. It's the lower temp one and I have use the lower of the two positions. But the thing must be faulty as temp gauge went up to 3/4 before I put the override switch on. Where does it kick in on your one guys ?
